1983 MK1 1.8 Turbo Swapped Rabbit in VooDoo Blue 
On Cars and Bids!

Ladies and gentlemen, VAG fans from all around the world. 

This is a 1983 VW Rabbit with a modern 1.8T swap from an AWD car that is fully built to make reliable, and incredibly enjoyable power. 

Completely built from top to bottom with all new seals and gaskets, this 1.8 received a full rebuild while getting its additional performance upgrades. 

The Build:

-SCAT connecting rods and ARP Hardware
-Honed block, stock pistons with new OEM rings
-NEW OEM main and rod bearings
-NEW cam chain tensioner and guide
-ALL gaskets top to bottom (zero leaks)
-Gruven Parts billet cylinder head water neck
-02J Transmission with Quaife LSD installed 
-BFI polyurethane engine mounts
-S&P Auto motor mount kit
-S&P Auto 1.8T swap harness WITH wideband 02 added
-Franken Turbo F21T turbo kit (turbo, manifold, turbo inlet pipe)
-Bosch EV14 550cc fuel injectors
-Bosch 044 fuel pump 
-3 inch MAF 
-OEM 2.0T redtop coil packs (with appropriate 1.8 to 2.0 adapter plates)
-Motoza F21T Tune; added wideband 02 sensor capabilities but removed VVT due to pre-2001 engines not having VVT or wideband 02 sensors. Since tuning is safer with wideband, builder had S&P add this when building the swap wiring harness. Car can run any 2002-05 1.8T 02 sensor from Jetta/Golf. 
-OEM mk4 VW VR6 clutch and single mass flywheel
-Axles replaced during swap; replacement axles (if need be) can be found by buyiung axles for a 16 valve Scirocco or 88-92 VW Cab. Axle cups used on the transmission are 100mm which is what is used by the listed vehicles. Stronger than the 90mm ones used on other MK1 cars.
-S&P auto 02J shifter adapter
-02J shift tower and linkage, all transmission parts are from mk4 gen Jetta/Golf/99-05
-Dieselgeek shifter rebuild and sigma short shifter
-Eurovan cable clutch conversion which includes clutch cable and actuated clutch slave
-Techtonics Tuning 2.5inch downpipe and 2.5 inch magnaflow exhaust
-Scirocco style aluminum radiator
-Mishimoto race fan w S&P fan controller and low temp fan switch
-Phoenix engineering injector cups 
-Powder coated and polished intake manifold
-Powder coated alternator, alt bracket, belt tensioner, fuel rail, accessory pullies, and valve cover. 


-Poly control arm and rear beam bushings
-Manual steering rack (its not that bad you babies) 
-Neuspeed rear sway bar
-Scirocco front K bar
-Rear strut brace
-BC racing coilovers
-Scirocco 16V brakes front and rear with new calipers, rotors, pads, and fluids 
-Stainless brake lines
-Front hardlines replaced in 2018, rears 2008
-Cab brake booster
-22mm Master cylinder from MK3 Golf/Jetta with 2.0 engine (VR6 uses different one)


-Voodoo Blue paint, body and engine bay resprayed winter of 2018 but first application of voodoo blue was circa 2007
-During 2018 revamp, minor rust repair was done on the front and rear windshield frames and lower rear apron 
-Body kit on the car is period correct and was NOS and primered, never mounted til it found its new home this car
-Shaved engine bay and rain tray
-All new seals around the glass and body during the respray 
-Kamei hood scoop
-Kamei eyebrow 
-BBS rear spoiler

-MK2 8 gauge cluster
-HVAC delete (panel ordered to cover the hole)
-Recaro Profi SPG XL seats with seat backs wrapped in Avery blue vinyl and Subaru STI Blue suede inserts

-SloVWworks door cards and rear interior panels
-Battery relocation
-Innovate voltage, oil pressure, oil temp, and water temp gauges
-Glowshift boost gauge 
-Headliner in April 2020
-Momo Montecarlo 350mm wheel with blue stitching and horn button

Recent service invoices being sourced to get the recent tuneup it went through, invoice for the bodykit from Europe, and complete rebuild of shifter linkage as it originally was too tight and reverse lockout had to be adjusted to make it work properly.
