The city of Knoxville, TN, was never on our radar for Porsche parties...until now.

Porsche Plática (Porsche "Talk" in Spanish) was organized by Shannon Harper and Connor Hinkle of Harper Porsche. It was brought to my attention by a friend of mine (@winningauto). Larry was looking to organize the largest gathering of Carrera GTs in existence to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic model. In only its second year, over 3000 spectators converged on The Quarry, a wedding venue in the quaint city.

There, attendees enjoyed an intimate sampling of Porsches. There were just over 50 show cars, which meant you had the time to appreciate each in detail. Porsche Plática is an event that is a must to travel to for all things Porsches. Curated between the minds at Harper Porsche, Larry and Will Lee from PTSRS.

Naturally, the centerpiece of the show was the CGT. Thanks in large part to Graham Rahal Performance (GRP), Repasi Motorwerks, Merit Partners, Ryan Friedman Motor Cars, and ZWECK, there were 19 CGTs that made the trek, including the only Zanzibar Red example (still enjoyed by the original owner), the original Oak Green launch car, and two Porsche Sunderwunsch re-commissioning projects.

Still, there was plenty more to admire. RUF North America and GRP also brought out some rare birds, many of which had seldom been seen in person. Cultivated Collector brought out his Schuppan 962 and the HEIGO prototype Porsche SCRS, which had been restored by the talented hands at Tuthill in collaboration with Rothsport.

The most expensive Skittles collection ever.

Rain couldn’t spoil anyone’s spirits; all of the cars were thoroughly enjoyed on Tennessee’s picturesque mountain roads and at a private track day at Flatrock Motorclub preceding Sunday’s main event.

Complimented by an entire section of the show dedicated to RUF, RUF North America, and GRP brought some icons to the show and helped tie it all together to ensure only the best of the best was present.

With a RUF SCR, one of three RUF RTR's made for the world, RUF BTR2 VIN 001 and a BTR 3.8 AWD AKA BTR 4 present, the only Slantnose CTR1 AKA Yellowbird being there was the final seal to the grouping.

Needless to say, Porsche Plática has earned a rightful place on the car calendar, and we were thrilled to be part of such a historic gathering.

Porsche Plática 2026, be there or be incredibly square....
